Najmu Laila

Najmu Laila, also know as Najmu is a legal professional with ten years of experience in legal practice, research, and consultancy related to Legal Compliance, Public Private Partnership, and Investment Law.

 

Najmu Laila obtained her first law degree from the University of Indonesia where she graduated cum laude in January 2012. Since beginning of law school, she has been heavily engaged in extracurricular activities and in the community on issues related to corporate governance, business ethics, and development. In 2011, she received the Most Outstanding student award at the Faculty of Law.

 

After finishing her Master of Laws degree at New York University, she received the prestigious International Finance and Development Fellowship, which allowed her to spend the 2016 fall semester working for the World Bank in Washington, DC.

 

Najmu has keen interest on the issue of project development and policy/legal reforms initiatives in Indonesia. Extensive experience in working on the issues of project developments, public-private partnership (PPP), telecommunication, capital market as well as corporate regulations and governance; and has also been involved in various national strategic projects as a legal expert/consultant. Throughout her career, she has handled various high profile projects while working closely with government linked institutions, state-owned and private companies as well as international agencies. Having significant experience in advising and representing clients on the telecommunication industry, project financing (including PPP schemes), research, legislative drafting and policy formulation, debt restructuring as well as infrastructure development for the energy sector.
